To pass, a pupil:
- Skips 10 times in a row (double or single bounce)
- Skips at least once backwards
- Counts their own skips out loud (forwards or backwards skipping)
- Jumps inside a long rope while teachers turn the rope

What usually makes it hard: Jumping as the rope arrives.
- TaskStart standing still in the middle before the rope starts, as the skip-hop tip says.
- CommunicationTurners count and call “jump”.
- EquipmentA beaded rope or bells on the rope give a sound to time the jump.
Seated or no-jump version. Turn one end of the rope, or sit in the middle while the turners make a high, slow arc over the chair.
